THIS MAKES ME HAPPY
The art project posed the question “What makes you happy” to different individuals.
The question was reflected upon through discussions in groups or individually with the artist. Talking about your happy place often sparked conversations about what is important in life and what fills you with joy. Meeting on a regular basis and taking the time to reflect and explore the participants felt free to express their thoughts on an individual piece of cloth. Some choose to create their own, some together with a close one. Their expressions could be to paint, write, make collages, cut from different fabrics, glue objects and together. The participants were elderly, staff in nursing care, children in daycare, hospitalized children with their closed ones, schoolkids and their teachers.
The exhibition of the artwork was shown in different places in Skåne. It sparked conversations and awareness among the visitors and spread joy. It also brought a voice to the participants, many of them not used to be an obvious part of the conversation.
